I almost wish I could post it guilt free. I just want to thank Emerson for having a camera phone. And Ellen for throwing the most kickass parties ever.

Needless to say, this is the last post I'll be making on this journal. This is momentous guys, I've had this journal since June 14th of 2004. And that is a long time. I didn't think I'd say goodbye, but seeing as technically I'm no longer a Singing Angel (officially I have until September... but whatever) I've created a new one to use throughout college, and you should all subscribe.

http://www.xanga.com/forever_a_singing_angel

Go for it please? Thanks.

Love for the last time,

I did it... I finally accomplished the one last goal I had in Angels.

I am SO proud of myself, and I have about 235342 thankyous to write.

More later, remind me to say something about the speech.

~~'~<@EDIT@>~'~~

Whee roses.

So I definitely saw M:I:III. It's really good. Yeah. Uhhhm not much more to say than that, I think. OH I feel stupid but get this; I find myself conducting pretend interviews (cuz Tom got one, duh) and in them I've made up like tons of advice about Angels and it's like crazy, you know? but a lot of it is retelling my experiences and drawing from them. Also rambling.

*looks at previous entryness* Oooh the speech! *thinks* Oh yeah when I got up there (after Emerson attacked me and Ells and Meg told Charles to make me give the speech) I was seriously gonna say "I'd like to thank the Academy... you like me! You really like me!" but I never got the chance cuz I was hyperventilating. See, that award was the one goal I had left to be accomplished in Angels, and now that I've done that, I think I can finally move on and have fun in college. Can't wait for my grad party!

Thursday, May 25, 2006

New layout.

What do I feel like doing today? I got these terrycloth shorts... er I mean skort. You see many things through the eyes of a child.
Meaning, you're rarely cynical or jaded.
You cherish all of the details in life.
Easily fascinated, you enjoy experiencing new things.

You like to think you're the other white meat, but many people don't want anything to do with you.
You probably smoke. And it's likely that no body part of yours is off limits.

Very misunderstood, most people just dismiss you as "trouble."

Little do they know that you're wise and well accomplished beyond your years.

You will be remembered for: starring in your own TV show and saving the town from a comet

Your life philosophy: "I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again!"

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

You're a pro at going with the flow
You love to kick back and take in everything life has to offer
A total joy to be around, people crave your stability.

While you're totally laid back, you can have bouts of hyperactivity.
Get into a project you love, and you won't stop until it's done
You're passionate - just selective about your passions

You're so quirky, it's hard for you to tell the difference between quirky and normal.
No doubt about it, there's little about you that's "normal" or "average."

You Are a Visionary Soul

You are a curious person, always in a state of awareness.
Connected to all things spiritual, you are very connected to your soul.
You are wise and bright: able to reason and be reasonable.
Occasionally, you get quite depressed and have dark feelings.

You have great vision and can be very insightful.
In fact, you are often profound in a way that surprises yourself.
Visionary souls like you can be the best type of friend.
You are intuitive, understanding, sympathetic, and a good healer.

Souls you are most compatible with: Old Soul and Peacemaker Soul

I really don't know what to write.

I got a call from a certain someone today who was checking up on me to make sure the postpartum depression wasn't too bad... that was sweet of her...

But other than that, I really have nothing to say. Oh, I did notice something. Bands with original music all use the same theme for their particular songs. It bugs me and makes it really difficult to like new stuff. Take AC/DC for example. Every one of them begins with drums, then guitar, then the lead singer, and ends with a gigantic mushmush of guitar and drumming and sometimes a few yells from the lead singer. Annoyingggg. And even P!ATD is the same way. Repetition of every chorus at least 4925 times... :-\

-ashley

Hey, it's never over.

I'm proud. And every one of us is now a veteran.

I was good about crying. I only cried a little during Farewell My Friend. I almost lost it during Ave Maria/I Believe... and then Mr. Boehm walked onstage and I thought, 'this is it, this is the last time you're ever going to do this in uniform,' and I started bawling. After the curtain closed... I was bent with the tears. Brittany grabbed me and we kinda just hugged for like three minutes and I hugged about 429857 different people. I don't even know who gave me some of the hugs I got, I just kept crying and my eyes were shut.

Then, Star Restaurant. I didn't know I was going, so it was a pleasant surprise for Brittany, Ells, Meg and I. I better get those pictures from you, Meg, and soon, cuz some of them are blackmail for both of us... *muahaha*

Megan happens to know exactly how to capture my best faces. Just wait and see...

I managed to avoid Mike the entire time, even when he was two feet from me (which happened thrice). *punches air* but I did see Marguerite, Lisa, Tom... great times!

And I got some adorable presents!! Annie G. got me this teddy bear... it's big and blue and I LURB IT!

All in all... I'm only sad that I'll never get to be stressed about this all again, and the thing that took up more than half of my life is over for me. Cuz you know I'll come back.

-ashley

P.S. Emerson is the most kickass boyfriend ever. Hehe... He decided to completely throw away protocol by kissing me onstage. I love you!

My mind is dull and blank.

Everything's in place.

The costumes... the piano... the risers... the musicians... us.

I wish I felt sadder than I do depressed. It'd be easier to cry and get it out of my system. I probably won't be able to breathe from the tears after the curtain closes tomorrow. I'm just too depressed right now to even think of anything other than the fact that tomorrow it's all over. The group I've spent more than half my life in, the one reason I've been able to go on without killing myself, the place where I met every single one of my friends... except Sarah... I'll never go to another rehearsal as an Angel. I'll be an alum.

It's like knowing you're going to die.

This is it.

This is really it. Tomorrow is my last official Singing Angels rehearsal at the Masonic Temple.

So much has changed since my first rehearsals.
-I began on 2.
-My first Performing Chorus rehearsal was on 2M.
-Mr. Boehm was there all the time.
-Nicole Sommerfeld was my Training Chorus director.
-Mark Glinka was a team leader for Training Chorus.
-I've gone through 4 uniforms.
-And two summer uniforms.
-About five different pairs of shoes.
-I was oblivious to the world at eight years old. At eighteen (almost), I'm still oblivious... but I know where the hell I'm going.
-Training Chorus uniforms consisted of a white shirt, a red tie, a black pleated skirt, and black shoes.
-Performing Chorus Uniform consisted of a royal blue skirt, white shoes, a white shirt, a white and blue best, and the Star Sash. I miss that.
-The staff included Mrs. Jansen and KAH was known as Mrs. Harris. Her hair came to her shoulders.
-Joe Gordon. Need I say more? Of course, no one today remembers him except Nicole and Christina and I...
-Joe Morin. Taboo name! Ooooh!
-Dance Troupe was by rank.
-We were deadly afraid of the staff, the seniors, and the section leaders. Respect wasn't just required, it was demanded.

I miss those days, even if they were spent in blissful ignorance.

I feel sick. I'm going to sleep... I'll see you in the morning. Don't forget your spirit. And for goodness' sakes, don't sing full voice, and don't let me sing full voice either. I'll kill myself.

Much, much love.
-ashley

OMfreakingG

I have a job interview today!
